Carol Cash-Berry, an AIAA Associate Fellow and a long-time member of the AIAA Northern Ohio Section, passed away on 2 May.
Cash-Berry received her BA in Business/Marketing from Baldwin Wallace University in 1994. She then worked for GE Aircraft Engines for 37 years as a Field Representative and a Marketing Manager. After retiring from GE in 2007, she had a career as a consultant to the aerospace industry, establishing Carol Cash & Associates, and working with the Ohio Aerospace Institute where she was a long-term consultant and project manager for the Propulsion Instrumentation Working Group (PIWG).
Active in AIAA for more than 30 years, Cash-Berry was a leader across the Institute in the area of public policy. She served in leadership roles at the section, regional, and national levels, and for many years she helped shape AIAA’s Public Policy initiatives. She served on the AIAA Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013 as the Vice President for Public Policy. She also led the Northern Ohio Section’s Public Policy efforts for many years, and she was the original founder of the highly impactful “Team Ohio” Public Policy group, which she started back in 1998.
Cash-Berry was also instrumental in the planning and execution of many important AIAA conferences, including the 34th and 50th Joint Propulsion Conferences (JPC), which were held in Cleveland in 1998 and 2014, respectively.
She was recognized as a tireless AIAA advocate with 2000 and 2001 Special Service Citations and a 2005 Sustained Service Award for extended service to AIAA at the section, regional, and national levels including ongoing visionary leadership of AIAA aeronautics policy activities.
