The Institute was named a finalist in PR Daily’s 2026 Marketing Awards for two initiatives: its brand relaunch and the redesign of Aerospace America’s website.
The awards, presented by Ragan Communications and PR Daily, recognize organizations advancing marketing through creativity, strategy, and measurable results. Finalists were honored on 18 June at a luncheon in New York City.
AIAA’s brand relaunch marked the organization’s first major identity update in more than six decades. The new look draws from Chuck Yeager’s Bell X-1 — the aircraft that broke the sound barrier — as a symbol of the Institute’s mission to push boundaries in aerospace. The campaign rolled out in phases to reach different audiences and included onsite activations at university events. The brand refresh is aligned with the Institute’s bold vision for growth, youth engagement, and member services, re-energizing the global community and contributing to an impressive 10% membership growth.

Aerospace America’s website relaunch campaign was a transformation at scale and speed. In just over two months, AIAA overhauled the publication’s digital presence, launching a modernized website alongside a transition to a high-value quarterly print magazine – unlocking capacity for real-time online news coverage. The results were transformative. Page views surged 600+%, print distribution grew by more than 50%, and social media engagement more than doubled across LinkedIn and X. Real-time article output also tripled, positioning Aerospace America as a dynamic, multi-channel media brand built for the digital age.
“AIAA is honored to be recognized as a finalist for these two initiatives, which reflect the collective efforts of an incredible team and community. From the members who inspire our work, to the staff who brought these ideas to life, this recognition highlights what can be accomplished when a shared vision is matched with collaboration and execution. We are even more excited about the future for both initiatives as we expand AIAA’s visibility as the trusted source for the aerospace innovation community,” said Brian Talbot, senior vice president, Sales, Marketing, and Communications, AIAA.
