Our Authors
Rodger is AIAA’s managing director for strategic outreach. In addition to his deputy publisher role at Aerospace America, he oversees corporate communications and branding; marketing and promotion across all product lines; relationship management for AIAA’s industry partners and public policy. Rodger joined AIAA in 1993.
Sandy is executive director of AIAA and a former astronaut. In 2002, Sandy operated the shuttle Atlantis robotic arm during an assembly mission to the International Space Station. In 2008, she rode Endeavour to the station for a four-and-a-half-month expedition. In 2011, she was loadmaster during the shuttle program’s final mission, STS-135. Sandy has a Ph.D. from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech, and worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co. before joining NASA.
Sarah is a science and technology journalist based in Boston interested in how innovation and research intersect with our daily lives. She has written for a number of national publications and covers innovation news at Inverse.
Theresa is a Florida-based journalist focused on the space industry. She was the founding editor of Space News.
Tom flew on four space shuttle missions, including his last flight, STS-98, in which he led three spacewalks to install the American Destiny laboratory on the International Space Station. Tom is a senior research scientist at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition.
